2017 Toys For Tots

Posted in: Pack News by rlgray on November 7, 2017

As one of our holiday service projects, the Pack is once again participating in Toys For Tots by donating presents at our November 28th Pack Meeting.

The mission of Toys For Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them into becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.  A representative with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be attending to discuss the program and to collect our donations of new, unwrapped toys for the less fortunate children in our community.

How We Will Help:

1. Gifts for children up to age 13.

2. Cannot accept food items or realistic-looking weapons.

3. Toys for Tots does not publish a list of appropriate toys to donate. Consider what might be an appropriate gift for yourself and your own child/relative, then purchase that item for Toys for Tots.

4. Deliver it unwrapped to the November Pack meeting for transfer to the Toys for Tots collection site.

When we began this service project in 2014, we had the collection in December, but our Committee felt that moving this to November would help the Toys For Tots program organize and deliver the donations more effectively.
