- Youth Protection
- Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation
- Revamped in 2018; the new version covers both the old BALOO and the now-defunct OWL (below).
- At least one BALOO-trained leader is required for Pack or Den (Webelos) overnighters.
- Recommended for den leaders earlier in the program. While not usually required until you want to tak a Webelos den camping independently, there's a lot of good information on planning campouts that is more useful early in your den leader career. BALOO does not expire, either, so there's no harm in taking it early.
- An online training part (maybe an hour or two) is required before an overnighter training event (Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun depending)

- Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
- A Boy Scout (not Cub Scout) training that previously had been used to satisfy the OWL requirement...IOLS still exists, and while there's a lot of good information in it, there's no requirement for IOLS in Cub Scouting
- University of Scouting - all day, first Saturday in November.
