2018 Scout Sunday

Posted in: Pack News by rlgray on February 6, 2018 | No Comments

A Scout is Reverent.

The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls on or before the Scouting Anniversary Day as Scout Sunday. This is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. The Methodist Church recognizes Scout Sunday on the Second Sunday of February.

This year, Scout Sunday will be observed during the services on February 11th at FUMC Cary in cooperation with Troop 200 and Crew 200.

All scouts are invited to participate as ushers and greeters in the Sunday services to visibly show the church thanks for their support of the Scouting ministry.

A sign-up form is available online which lists all the available times and positions needed for each service at FUMC:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0945acaa22a3f85-scout1

Scouts participating from Pack 200 should wear their full Class A uniforms (including neckerchief), except no hats.

You do not need to be a member of FUMC to do this.

2018 Blue & Gold

Posted in: Pack News by rlgray on | No Comments

The Blue & Gold banquet is Scouting’s annual Birthday Party and also an occasion for us to reflect on all the great scouting events the boys have participated over the past year as well as the Webelos’ careers in Pack 200. Throughout the evening, we will be playing slideshows to highlight our scouts and the 2017-2018 year. It’s our goal to include as many Pack 200 scouts in the slideshow as possible, but we cannot do it without your help and your photos!

Pack 200’s Blue & Gold is an annual family event at which scouts are recognized for their individual rank advancement. The event concludes with our second year Webelos “Bridging to Boy Scouts”.  This year we have close to 20 Webelos advancing to Boy Scouts and and they will be crossing the bridge to their selected troop.

This year’s Blue & Gold Banquet will be Saturday, February 10 from 6:00 pm to 8 pm.

This year, the meal is catered.

Lions and Tigers do not normally attend this event unless with an older sibling.

The Pack will provide drinks, silverware, plates and napkins.  Dens are encouraged to decorate their table or bring centerpieces they have created.

The Blue & Gold Banquet is well attended and so space is at a premium due to the size of the Pack.
There is no cost but we will need a head count because space is limited.

Please take a moment to register:

Many hands make light work – please help the pack go by assisting with setup or cleanup!

If this is your family’s first time attending a Blue & Gold banquet, please take some time to read over the following FAQ regarding Blue & Gold. If you have any questions that aren’t covered here, please contact your den leaders.
