2018 Fall Pack Family Camping

When: Oct 19-21, 2018
Where: Camp Boddie, Blounts Creek, North Carolina

About 2 hours east of Cary, Camp Boddie is on the Pamilco River. Please bring and apply insect repellent! Note our camp sites should have showers and a bath house.

Saturday morning we are going to the Aurora Fossil Museum for a talk about fossils and to dig for fossils in their pit! Please brings small shovels, buckets, screens and any digging tool you want. Dens will be organizing Saturday afternoon activities related to Adventures for each rank.

Friday, October 19
3:00-10:00PM You may arrive any time after 3PM and set up camp
Dinner is own your own
No formal camp fire program
10:00PM Lights Out

Saturday, October 20
7:00 – 8:30 Breakfast with your den or own your own then clean-up
8:45 Drive in parent vehicles to Aurora Fossil Museum, 400 Main Street in Aurora, North Carolina (17 miles)
9:15 to lunch: Attend Fossil talk, tour the museum and dig for fossils. Please apply sunscreen.
12:00 to 2:00 Lunch on your own or with your den back at the campsite.
2:00 to 5:00 Work on adventures or electives with your den.
5:30 to 7:00 Dinner on your own or with your dens then clean-up.
7:00 to 8:00 Campfire
Each Den will have to perform a skit
Pack provides S’mores
10:00 Lights Out

Sunday, October 21
8:00 Breakfast
9:00 Short religious ceremony
9:30 Police the campground
10:00 Leave the camp

If you are the last two families/cars, please exit together to be sure everyone is on the road safely.
