Posted in: Pack News by rlgray on September 21, 2016

FUMC’s Boy Scout Troop 200 would like to welcome you to “Webelos Woods 2016”!   Webelos Woods has been designed by Troop 200 Scouts for you. You may be asking yourself. . . What is Webelos Woods? . . . Good Question!   Webelos Woods is an introduction to the world of Scouting through the camping experience, and is put on by the Scouts in Troop 200 for our Webelos dens. The Boy Scout motto is “Be Prepared”.

Where:  BSA Camp Reeves in Carthage NC (maps below)

Google Map link from Cary via highway US 1 South  (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes)

Directions:

When heading West, go pass the Camp Durant entrance (on left-hand, South side of the road), and the entrance to Camp Reeves will also be on your left, approximately 1/2 mile beyond. The address for Camp Durant is:
4637 Old Carthage Rd, Carthage, NC
Your GPS may have better luck with this street address:
161 Camp Reeves Ln, Carthage NC
Camp Durant’s entrance has a large red pole shaped like a Scout Sign, but Camp Reeves has nothing except a sign.  Once on the grounds, you will drive down past the ranger’s house to a T-intersection (usually has dumpsters), bear right, follow the road to the Southeastern corner of Field #2 (see camp map).  Turn (North) and drive up the side of Field #2 to the treeline and locate your den’s campsite on either side of the dirt road there among the trees.  Parking is in the field and some locations alongside the dirt roadway.  The Troop will drive through and camp North of us, deeper in the woods. See the Camp map.
