2016 Scouting for Food

Posted in: Pack News by Hans Enders on February 22, 2016

At the end of February, Pack 200 will hold a Scouting for Food event spanning two Saturdays.  This entails one morning leafleting a neighborhood, and then returning the following Saturday to collect the food and then deliver it to a local charity.  The first date will not require as many persons as the second date.  This year, we have chosen to donate the collections to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle in SE Raleigh.  This will be our first Drive in several years.  Please RSVP so we can gauge interest and neighborhood size.

What:  Collect food for the needy!   Earn a patch!

When:  February 27th and March 5th, 9am-11am

Starting Location:  FUMC parking lot to get instructions

Where Then?:  Routes taken from Troop 200 luminaria routes

Ending Location:  Back at FUMC parking lot

Whoopsie:  Saturday March 5th is also the date for the District PWD, so we understand if you cannot come that date.  Maybe your family would like to go there for lunch after the Food Drive!

  1. February 27th – quickly deliver flyers and bags  Easy day!
  2. March 5th – drive the route slowly and have Scouts collect bags of food
  3. March 5th – weigh the collection, take pictures, then volunteers drive it to the food pantry  (
