2016 Scout Sunday

Posted in: Pack News by rlgray on January 15, 2016

A Scout is Reverent.

The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls on or before the Scouting Anniversary Day as Scout Sunday. This is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. The Methodist Church recognizes Scout Sunday on the Second Sunday of March.

This year, Scout Sunday will be observed during the services on February 14th at FUMC Cary in cooperation with Boy Scout Troop 200 and Cub Scout Pack 200.  All scouts are invited to participate as ushers and acolytes in the Sunday services. Each servcie needs an adult leader to present a brief statement on the Scout program.

(If your family attends another church, you should contact your church’s office to find out when your church will be observing Scout Sunday.  Please notify your Cubmaster or ACM so they can credit you for this separate event and ensure delivery of the Scout Sunday patch.)

Scouts from Pack 200 can participate by wearing their full Class A uniforms, except no hats.

A sign-up form is available online which lists all the available times and positions needed for each service at FUMC:
