A clean and litter-free community is fundamental to upholding the values and beauty of the Town of Cary. To maintain clean streets, parks, neighborhoods, streams, and natural areas, and to encourage citizen involvement, the Town has
created the Adopt a Spot Program. Adopt a Spot is administered through the Town’s litter reduction and beautification program, Spruce: Keeping Cary Clean and Forever Green. For our efforts, Pack 200 will be recognized with a sign at the park and on the Town’s Web site.

Pack 200 has selected this service project in accordance with the requirements of Scouting’s World Conservation Award. This award provides an opportunity for individual Cub Scouts (and Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers) to “think globally” and “act locally” to preserve and improve our environment. The World Conservation Award program is designed to make youth members aware that all nations are closely related through natural resources and that we are interdependent with our world environment. The Cub Scout version of the World Conservation Award can be earned by Wolf or Bear Cub Scouts, and by Webelos Scouts. Scouts must participate in an environmental service project (along with other requirements depending on rank) to receive this award.

Logistics:
Please arrive by 10:45 to get organized. All scouts will have at least one buddy while working.

The Town will provide participants with trash bags, gloves and disposable vests and will remove the filled bags from the site. Orange bags are for trash, white/clear bags are for recycling.

The pack will provide a treat!
